School work today

I woke up feeling grotty, slept in a little bit too late and now I have to do my school work.

We have to do this Eastern Explorers thing and at the moment we are studying Oceania.  I have chosen to do a project on different instruments in Oceania. It's quite interesting and I have to have it published on my blog today, so sooner or later theres going to be a new post.

I'm still doing my composer's project and I think I have found a good composer to research: William Walton, his music is pretty nice.

Mars facts.

Mars has two moons Phobos and Deimos, they both look like asteroids caught in Mars orbit.

Mars is named after the roman god Mars, the god of war. Mars is also called the Red Planet because of the rusty red colour due to the iron content in the sand.

Mars is very cold all the time because of it's thin atmosphere. Scientists think that humans will be able to live on Mars someday.

Composers

I have been doing a project on different composers. Mainley around the Brahms period.

Antonio Vivaldi was ordained a priest at the age of 25, but he then quit mass saying, "his chest was too tight." During those years he was taught to play by his father. He also had a rather bad case of asthma which was way he quit mass but many believed it was because he was forced to become a priest.

Vivaldi wrote around 500 concertos, along with a wealth of opera and religious themed pieces. Half of Vivaldi's music was lost and the other half was found in a chest sometime in the 1920's. Like Mozart, Vivaldi died in poverty in 1714, and was buried in an unmarked grave.

That is my small piece of interesting stuff...

Something Random

I think it's interesting that natualy formed circles of atoms are rare, imagine the time, study and effort that you'd have to put into it.

Sunday

Slept in. Dad took my brother and I out to our cousins, Dad cut firewood while Mitchell and I rode round on the quad. After lunch we went to a party and stayed there for most of the afternoon.

Saturday

I had to get up at six o'clock in the morning, have breakfast, get ready and go to swimming.I swam for 2 hours and was exhausted afterwards. My brother and I might be going up to Christchurch and helpout with the liquefaction, for a day sometime this week.
